SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE (PIA) – A total of 35 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) participated in the Zambales Paskuhan Fair of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) held at the Activity Center of the Ayala Harbor Point that will run until December 9.
These include eight exhibitors from Olongapo City and 27 from Zambales.
According to DTI Zambales Provincial Director Enrique D. Tacbad the Paskuhan Fair is under the One Town, One Product (OTOP) -New Generation Program, which aims to provide support services to MSMEs.
“Under this program, we will be able to upsize, upscale, and upgrade our MSMEs, which are considered the backbone of the Philippine economy for job generation and employment,” he said.
Among the products showcased are mango-based products, coconut-based products like coco jams and wood crafts, handicrafts, home decorations, dairy products, delicacies, and many more.
Tacbad added that the DTI continues to provide promotional and marketing programs for MSMEs.
He also shared that under the program, the department will be partnering with the local government units in Zambales for the establishment of an OTOP hub.
The director then encouraged the public to support and buy locally-made products from the province of Zambales and Olongapo City. (MJSC/RGP PIA-3)
