BANGUED, Abra (PIA) — More than 3,000 Abrenians benefit from the government’s Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) during the “Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” on Sept. 13, 2024.
Each beneficiary received P5,000 during the payout at the Andres Bernos Memorial Gymnasium in Bangued. Said payout was led by the of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera Protective Services Division Chief Mary Ann Buclao and Abra Congresswoman Menchie Bernos.
Farmer Lorenda Baldemor, a beneficiary from the remote barangay of Bai in the municipality of Lagayan, is thankful for the assistance which she will use for the school needs of her daughter.
“Nadagsen ti agpabasa tatta ta adu latta dagiti masapul a bayadan da isunga nga dakkel ti maitulong na daytoy nga kuarta ta adda nayon ti tuition na, dakkel unay a yamanko ta maysaak kadagiti naikkan,” Baldemor said.
[It’s costly to send our children to college today because there are still other fees to be paid, so this financial assistance helps a lot for her tuition fee. I’m very thankful that I am among the recipients.]
Abra is among the provinces with the highest number of beneficiaries for the AKAP payout during the ‘Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat,’ which is in time with the celebration of the 67th birthday of President Bongbong Marcos Jr.
Bernos assured that no low income earner will be left behind in the financial assistance.
“Ituloy tayo ti payout next week tapno mairaman dagiti dadduma nga kakailiantayo ditoy Abra ket siguradoen tayo nga awan ti mabati ken saan a maikkan a tulong especially kadagiti agkurang ti pagbiaganda,” Bernos said.
