TABUK CITY, Kalinga (PIA) – A total of 414 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Tabuk City have reached self-sufficient level of well-being and are set to exit from the program, according to the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Office.
Based on the Social Welfare and Development Indicators (SWDI) 2024 report, these households were evaluated to have adequate income and resources to meet the needs of their family members, so they no longer require government cash assistance.
The graduating families will be formally recognized in a “Pugay Tagumpay” ceremony scheduled for June.
Of the 3,575 registered 4Ps households in Tabuk City, 3,338 are currently classified as Level 2, or “subsistence,” while none remain at Level 1, or “survival.” Level 1 indicates extreme poverty, while Level 2 families have limited income and barely meet basic needs.
SWAD-Kalinga said the absence of families at the survival level signals the success of the program’s implementation.
To ensure the continued success of the program, SWAD-Kalinga personnel continues to remind the beneficiaries during Family Development Sessions about the responsible use of the cash grants, which is to support children’s education, health, and nutrition.
The 4Ps program was first implemented in Tabuk in 2011 with 5,600 family beneficiaries. (JDP/RGA-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
