44 Isabeleños complete skills training

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – A total of 44 Isabeleños have completed carpentry and dressmaking NC II skills training, provided by the Provincial Government of Isabela (PGI), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The carpentry trainees underwent 38 days of training, while the dressmaking trainees completed 35 days of intensive instruction.

Public Employment Service Officer Ma. Cecilia Claire Reyes explained that the skills training is part of PGI’s community-based program, designed to meet workforce demands and enhance livelihood opportunities in the province.

Of the trainees, 24 specialized in carpentry and 20 in dressmaking, gaining practical skills applicable for both personal use and future employment.

Reyes said each trainee received a daily allowance of ₱160 from TESDA during the training.

Denzon Marcos, a carpentry trainee, expressed gratitude on behalf of all participants, thanking the provincial government and involved agencies for their support.

He emphasized the training’s importance for their livelihoods and job prospects.

“Thank you to all the agencies involved in this training program. I learned how to fix things, saw wood, and make tables, chairs, posts, and houses that I can use in the future,” said Denzon Marcos. (MGE/PIA Isabela)
