TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) – Over 45 Eastern Visayas leaders have signed two manifestos condemning Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent tirade against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.
The leaders, representing provinces and municipalities in Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, and Biliran, expressed their deep offense at Duterte’s “baseless accusations” and her disrespect towards Speaker Romualdez, President Marcos Jr., and the Waray people.
The manifestos denounce Duterte’s attacks as an affront to the people of Eastern Visayas and a threat to the progress and unity achieved under Speaker Romualdez and President Marcos Jr.’s leadership.
The leaders vow to stand against “unfounded accusations” that seek to discredit good leaders and divide the nation. They emphasize that the President and House Speaker’s leadership is a source of pride for the Waray people and a symbol of hope for the Philippines.
The leaders commit to defending the integrity of both leaders, supporting their vision, and working with them to build a stronger and more inclusive Philippines. (PIA Eastern Visayas)
