SAN JOSE, Occidental Mindoro (PIA) — The Provincial and Municipal–End Local Communist Armed Conflict (P/MTF-ELCAC) recently conducted a Serbisyo Caravan in Barangay Iriron, Calintaan, benefitting 450 individuals.
Free health services were extended in the community led by the Municipal Health Office (MHO), such as medical consultation, vaccinations, and contraceptive implants for women, while the Philippine Army and the Municipal Police Office (MPO) provided haircuts and circumcision for boys.
PhilHealth also conducted membership registration to help the people become eligible to receive healthcare services such as free health risk screening and assessment, and selected medicines under the KonSulta program. Food packs were also distributed spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO).
A film viewing of a documentary about the New People’s Army’s propaganda was shown to the community to spread awareness of the deceptive recruitment tactics of the communist group.
