CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 48 entrepreneurs from Central Luzon graduated from the Kapatid Mentor Me – Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Of the total graduates, seven each came from the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales; while the remaining six came from Aurora.
During the online culminating program, DTI Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group Blesila Lantayona challenged the mentees to also share their learnings to help other entrepreneurs.
“The KMME Program has again produced graduates with a mindset and values of successful entrepreneurs. You are now part of the network of more than 8,000 KMME graduates in the country whose objective is not only to survive but ultimately to scale up under the continued mentorship of the program’s 800 accredited mentors,” she said.
For her part, DTI OIC-Regional Director Brigida Pili lauded the graduates for their dedication and for applying what they have learned to level up their enterprises.
“As entrepreneurs, let us not lose our determination to win and prevail, instead let these setbacks serve as challenges for us to improve and make a difference. We must always remember that our future is not determined by the stars, but by our own sweat,” she stressed.
Meanwhile, Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion stressed the importance of learning from the constantly evolving and competitive market.
He also cited the wide acceptance of the program among 10 ASEAN countries, adding that mentoring plays a crucial role in assisting micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to thrive in their business ventures.
Said graduates completed 10 online modules, coaching sessions, and presented their business improvement plans before a panel composed of representatives from the government, banking and financial sector, online market platforms, and mentors from the PCE.
KMME-MME program aims to empower MSMEs through mentorship and online sessions to continuously update them of innovative information, skills, and knowledge needed to upgrade, upskill, and upsize their enterprises. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
