MANILA, (PIA) — Fifty employees of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) received free skin care services on Wednesday during a special wellness event held at the PIA Conference.
The initiative, part of the Gender and Awareness (GAD) project, aimed to promote health and wellness among government officials and employees.

Zaron Skin Organics provided complimentary skin growth removal services, including consultations and cautery treatments, to attendees. The program is part of the Zaron Skin Organics’ broader wellness mission that extends its services to various government agencies, communities, barangays, public schools, and condominiums across the country.
PIA-NCR assistant regional chief Alice Sicat, also a proponent of the agency’s GAD initiative, emphasized the importance of the continuing activities for health and wellness that has benefited PIA employees.
Sicat also mentioned some of the mechanisms working for GAD in the agency.
“We have a Grievance Committee that handles harassment cases not just in Metro Manila but nationwide,” she said.
“The GAD program is also being enhanced through the guidance from the Commission on Audit, ensuring strict implementation and a dedicated budget for activities that support Women’s Month and campaigns against violence toward women,” she added.

Zarah Bautista, senior dermtech of Zaron Skin Organics, explained the importance of aftercare following the free procedures. “The services are free, but it’s essential for clients to avail of the aftercare to prevent infections at the removal sites,” she said.
Bautista highlighted that the aftercare consists of a blend of 60 herbal essential oils designed to promote healing and minimize scarring.
The event raised awareness about the risks associated with untreated warts, which are caused by a virus and can spread through skin-to-skin contact. Bautista noted, “Removing warts early can prevent them from spreading and reduce the risk of transmission.”
Looking ahead, Zaron Skin Organics plans to expand its offerings. “Currently, we are focusing on the removal of skin growths, but we are considering adding facial services in the near future,” Bautista said.
