PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (PIA) – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has distributed over 74,000 hectares of agricultural land to 52,031 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in the province.
This land distribution was carried out from the official launch of Operation Land Transfer in 1972 and continued until the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
This milestone underscored the government’s commitment to fostering social justice and agricultural productivity through equitable land distribution.

Jomari Aljas of Barangay San Isidro, Pitogo town, expressed heartfelt gratitude after finally receiving the land title for his one-hectare property—something he had waited for over 20 years.
“Sa dugay-dugay namong hinulat naabot na gyud ang among titulo. Ilabina ni President Bongbong Marcos. Maraming salamat po,” he said.
(After a long wait, we finally received our land title. Special thanks to President Bongbong Marcos, thank you very much!)
DAR-9 remains steadfast in its mission to implement a fair and authentic agrarian reform program that ensures just land distribution, secure ownership, and increased agricultural productivity.
Through these efforts, the agency continues to enhance the quality of life for farmers and contribute to sustainable rural development.
Division Chief Jena C. Saluag of DAR Land Tenure Improvement Division reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to resolving outstanding concerns of beneficiaries to ensure fair land distribution.
“Atoa ni siyang gilingkuran kauban sa [mga personnels sa] LMS (Land Management Services) ug ROD (Register of Deeds),” Saluag said.
(We sat down with the personnel of LMS [Land Management Services] and ROD [Register of Deeds].)
CARP, established under Republic Act No. 6657 or CARP Law of 1988, aims to distribute both public and private agricultural lands to landless farmers and farmworkers, ensuring a secure land tenure and economic empowerment. (EDT/HAC/PIA9-Zamboanga del Sur)
