56 Oroquietanhon workers get more than P453-K DOLE-TUPAD salaries

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–About 56 informal sector workers of Barangay San Vicente Alto, Oroquieta City, received their P453,600 worth of wages through the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE)-10 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program through a payout on November 7, 2023, at San Vicente Alto Function Hall, here.

Program Co-Partner, the Barangay Local Government of San Vicente Alto, represented by Kagawad Romy L. Yap, emphasized the workers’ community work and commitment within their barangay to lessen or prevent the consequences of natural disasters. He appreciated and thanked DOLE-10 for the financial support for his constituents.

Moreover, P8,100 in salary was paid to each TUPAD worker beneficiary for 20 days’ work, or P405 per day. The emergency work improved the beneficiaries’ living conditions and promoted the welfare of the community by engaging in activities that support collective participation to achieve a safer environment.

TUPAD is a community-based assistance program for displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers. The program provides a minimum duration of 10 days, not exceeding a maximum of 90 days, depending on the specific tasks to be performed.

This is part of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), which assists displaced and underemployed workers in obtaining emergency employment. (DOLE-Misamis Occidental/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
