60 patients to undergo free major operations at OMPH

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – More than 60 individuals will undergo free major operations to be conducted by specialist doctors from the medical mission of World Philippines Surgical Foundation, Inc. (WPSFI) at Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) in this city.

These patients are now undergoing examination and blood works by hospital personnel before theier scheduled operation.

Rosita Consul, a 63-year-old mother from Brgy. Lalud, Calapan City is one of the patients who will avail of the free major operation.

OMPH medical personnel will assist doctors from WPSFI using the medical facilities of OMPH in their surgical mission.

Consul has a gallstone (Cholelithiasis), a lingering sickness  for more than five years now.

She is thankful to the Provincial Government for sponsoring her in the medical services offered by the government in partnership with WPSFI.

Having availed of this free medical mission, Consul said she has been spared from the expensive surgery which is worth more than P250,000.

Meanwhile, hospital personnel said more than 150 patients are expected to undergo minor operations at OMPH today, the last day of the medical mission.  (LTC/PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
