678 PWUDs graduate from community-based drug rehab program in Ozamiz

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–Signifying a powerful step towards a drug-free community, a total of 678 Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) successfully completed, through a graduation ceremony, the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) offered by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) in Ozamiz City.

During the event, 17 drug-cleared barangays within the City of Ozamiz received their certificates. This achievement reflects the tireless efforts of the community, local government, and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.

Additionally, seven other barangays are in the process of applying for the prestigious drug clearance status, underscoring the city’s unwavering determination.

The event brought together various key stakeholders, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, all working harmoniously towards a common goal: a drug-free and safer Ozamiz City.

Meanwhile, Lawyer Indy Oaminal, the city mayor, conveyed his heartfelt message for the graduates through his representative, City Councilor Katkat Lim, who also chairs the Health Committee. In addition, representatives from the DILG and the PDEA shared their encouraging messages, emphasizing the collaborative effort needed to combat drug abuse.
