CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 7,055 students benefited from the educational aid given by the provincial government of Pampanga.
Each beneficiary received a check worth P4,000 as part of the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP).
Governor Dennis Pineda, who led the distribution, emphasized the importance of education in ensuring a promising future for the students.
“Study well and work hard for your future. You must ensure that you will finish school and graduate. Remember that we [provincial government] will always be here to support you,” he said,
The governor likewise thanked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for its unwavering support to the administration’s educational programs.
Beneficiaries like Kyla and Jan Rey Santos, a couple from the City of San Fernando who became parents at an early age, expressed their appreciation for the program.
Despite the challenges of parenthood, they said they found hope through EFAP as it enabled them to pursue their courses.
“My parents’ dream was for me to graduate so I continued with my studies. This program of the provincial government is very helpful for us,” Kyla said.
Data from the Provincial Library showed that more than 2,500 out of the 7,055 scholars have successfully graduated from college through the help of the program. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
