82 Malaybalay City families receive aid via DSWD’s ‘Walang Gutom Food STAMP’

MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA) — Eighty-two families received food assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 under the ‘Walang Gutom 2027: Food provision through Strategic Transfer and Alternative Measures Program (Food STAMP).

In the 3rd Food STAMP redemption on November 12 in Malaybalay City, 37 beneficiaries from Barangay Can-ayan and 45 from Barangay Managok received aid.

The beneficiaries exchanged P3,000 worth of credits from their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards for nutritious food items from Aviva Tasman Supply Chain Corp.—the DSWD-accredited retailer for the distribution. The food options included various healthy combinations such as carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, and vegetables.

Key personnel from the DSWD Field Office 10, the Community Engagement Coordinator, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) led the registration and food distribution on-site to ensure the event ran smoothly.

The Walang Gutom 2027 Food STAMP is one of the new DSWD flagship programs. It takes a holistic approach to addressing involuntary hunger by providing monetary assistance, training, and capacity-building opportunities. It helps beneficiaries improve their skills and become more productive citizens. (DSWD-10/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
