91% of GSIS members sign up with ‘Touch’ mobile app

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced that 91 percent of its members nationwide are now enrolled in its mobile app allowing members to manage their finances digitally.

The GSIS Touch app is equipped with features such as a digital ID for easier transactions with partner banks, a One-Time-Pin (OTP), and facial recognition system to ensure that the contact information of its members remains secured.

The GSIS Laguna said that the previous platforms like the web-based eGSISMO and the Kiosk system will be officially decommissioned in favor of the app.

Both the active members and pensioners are urged to update their data and contact information to ensure secure access.

Active members can update their information through GSIS partner Agency Authorized Officers (AAOs) or active GW@PS Kiosks, while pensioners can visit the nearest GSIS offices or email their local branch.

Meanwhile, the GSIS also announced its new Multi-Purpose Loan variants for members that can be applied through the app– such as MPL Flex which consolidates overdue loans and waives penalties for a flexible loan term; MPL Lite which offers Php5,000 to Php50,000 loan amount for a 6 to 24 month loan term; and the MPL Max that allows loan buyouts with a required memorandum of agreement between GSIS and its partner agencies.
