BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – More than 460 permanent employees of the Provincial Government of Abra (PGA) have received their medical allowance.
Each permanent employee received the first annual medical allowance of P7,000 which can be used for their health and medical needs safeguarding a healthy workforce.
The grant of the P7,000 medical allowance to qualified government civilian personnel is pursuant to Executive Order No. 64 s. 2024 signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in August 2024. This law also prescribes the updated salary rates of government personnel in four tranches.
Acting Governor Russel Bragas reported in an interview that the PGA expedited the disbursement of the medical allowance for the benefit of provincial government employees.
“Idi March 17 mi nga inpakaammo ni daytoy medical allowance kadagiti agtrab-trabaho ditoy Provincial Government and on the same day nai-disburse min kadagiti permanent employees,” Bragas reported.
(On March 17, we announced this medical allowance for the employees of the Provincial Government, and on the same day we disbursed it to the permanent employees.)
Provincial Administrator Leonard Andanan shared that the permanent employees of PGA will be expecting the second tranche of salary increase by August 2025.
“The increase of salary is an effect of the Province’s shift from 3rd class to 1st class, the second tranche of the salary increase will take effect on August this year,” Andanan said.
He assured that the provincial government continues to work on staff development initiatives that will support PGA employees. (JDP/CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
