LAGANGILANG, Abra (PIA) — The University of Abra (UA) strengthened its ties with partner-agencies in sustaining community communications through the use of Radio Kabinnulig 99.9FM located at the UA Main Campus in this town.
UA President Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza acknowledged the support of the different agencies, emphasizing that information empowers communities through technology.
Through a memorandum of agreement, partners are given with time slots to use the community radio station to air their programs, announcements and activities for free.
Turqueza has entered into a MOA with the heads and representatives of the Philippine National Police, the Public Attorney’s Office, the National Tobacco Administration, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the National Nutrition Council, the Boy Scout of the Philippines, the Philippine Information Agency, and other stakeholders.
“I believe that the success of this radio station is not only through us but more importantly with your cooperation and participation. Let’s further expand for our stakeholders because information is power,” Turqueza said.
He is positive that by sustaining the scheduled programs, Radyo Kabinnulig will become a major radio station, and a platform for Abrenians who need daily information.
Radyo Kabinnulig program coordinator Sam Viste said their partners are welcome to host their own programs with the assistance of the station personnel.
“We will be providing all the technical assistance needed for the airing of the radio programs. We can also train the hosts on the airing and operations of the different radio equipment,” he said.
Radyo Kabinnulig 99.9 FM is a network of the Nutriskwela Community Radio owned by the National Nutrition Council. It is airing and streaming daily programs under a partnership with the University of Abra. (CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
