Abra town hopes for more developments as it welcomes the Yuletide season

TAYUM, Abra (PIA) — Christmas season kicked-off  in  the town  of Tayum with the lighting of its giant Christmas Tree and decorations at the municipal plaza on November 23, 2024.

The opening of lights is also part of the town’s annual Indigo Festival with the theme, “Napasingked a Pammati, Mamagkaysa iti Umili.”

Mayor Placido Eduarte Jr. said that the opening of lights welcomes the spirit of Christmas and symbolizes Tayum’s achievements and continuous efforts towards progress.

“Daytoy ket rambak ti panagbalaigi sunga rumbeng na laing nga agbalaigi tayo ditoy ili ti Tayum kasi nagun-od tayo ti kangatuan nga karit iti lokal a gobyerno nga isu ngarud iti Seal of Good Local Governance,” he said.

The mayor also shared the different developments in the town such as the recently installed solar-powered street lights and the new Senior Citizen building inaugurated on November 24, 2024.

Eduarte also encouraged the personnel of the local government unit to continue to contribute and cooperate for the continuous progress of the municipality.

Aside from the giant Christmas tree, the opening of lights led by the local government also featured various Christmas decorations such as stars, candy canes, and colorful dancing lights.

Residents and visitors can enjoy the food bazaar and some market stalls at the town plaza. (JJPM, PIA-CAR, Abra)
