KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato Province (PIA) — Two super health centers will be constructed in Kidapawan City this year, particularly in the barangays of Binoligan and San Isidro.
The Western Kidapawan Super Health Center in Binoligan has a fund allocation of P8.1 million while the North-Western Super Health Center in San Isidro has an allotted fund of P8.2 million. The construction of the two facilities will be funded by the Department of Health.
Based on the data from the City Information Office, the city government’s counterpart will include medicines, regular supplies, and the salary of personnel assigned to the health centers.
This will be the third and fourth super health centers in the city. The P8 million Urban Health Center was built in 2019 in Barangay Mua-an. Meanwhile, there is an ongoing construction of the same facility with a fund of P9 million in Barangay Kalaisan.
Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista, city mayor, is optimistic that the two facilities will be very beneficial to the residents when it comes to fast and easy access to essential medical services in villages.
“With the super health centers, residents do not need to go to the city hospital because health services can already be availed at the barangay level,” Evangelista said.
Among the services that the residents can avail from the center include the following: TB DOTS, EENT, outpatient, and telemedicine, services for birthing, laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound, pharmacy, and basic services of the ambulatory surgical unit. (With reports from CIO-Kidapawan)
