OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) – The provincial government of Misamis Occidental (PGMO), the Philippine Army, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Security, Peace, and Order (SPOUSEs) to enhance security in the province.
The agreement was signed by Governor Henry Oaminal, Major General Gabriel C. Viray III of the 1st Infantry Division, Police Brigadier General Jaygen C. De Guzman of Police Regional Office-10, Lt. Col. Nelson Q. Boticario, commanding officer of the 10th Infantry Battalion, and Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Director PCol. Rommel B. Magleo, formalizing their commitment to maintaining peace in the province.
Oaminal highlighted the importance of the partnership between the AFP, PNP, and local government in sustaining peace and order. “This partnership unites the Philippine Army, the PNP, and our local government—three pillars of security and governance—working together to ensure peace and stability in our communities,” he said.
He emphasized that the agreement will protect the province’s progress and ensure it remains free from insurgency.
For Viray, the agreement reflects a shared vision for peace. He emphasized that the signing is a testament to the collective commitment to making peace and security a reality, rather than just an aspiration.
Viray also noted that the agreement symbolizes trust, partnership, and mutual respect, contributing to the stability that Misamis Occidental deserves.
De Guzman reiterated the PNP’s dedication to securing Misamis Occidental through intensified operations and stronger collaboration with the AFP and local government.
“We will intensify police operations, improve monitoring, and strengthen our collaboration with the AFP and local government to maintain Misamis Occidental as a safe and secure place for all,” he said. (PGMO MisOcc/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
