CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) – The Association of Government Information Officers (AGIO) in Region 7 has elected its new set of officers for 2025-2027 on Feb. 27.
Newly-elected AGIO-7 president, Presidential Commission for Urban Poor (PCUP) Information Officer Arlene Tudtud is grateful for the association’s trust in her.
“I am grateful and thankful once again for the trust you have given to me as your new President and I am asking for the support of everyone that we will be able to perform our task as information officers and continue to deliver our services to the community,” Tudtud said.
She plans to revive the conduct of information caravans as one of the association’s projects this year.
“We have plans to bring back the information caravan in bringing the government closer to the people and to add more interesting topics during our meetings, such as the learning sessions where some members could also share their expertise as communicators,” she added.
PIA 7 Regional Head Fayette Riñen congratulated the newly-elected officers and encouraged the information officers to be more visible and more relevant to the audience that they serve.
“I am very, very happy with how AGIO has become today because the agencies are very active,” Riñen said.
She also challenged the new set of officers to expand the membership of AGIO 7 and to sustain their attendance until the end of the meetings.
“Our real purpose is to bring down the information to the grassroots level because your role as communicators carry a noble purpose of touching the lives of the people through the information we share,” Riñen said.
