Agrarian reform coops undergo financial literacy training

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) –Some officers and members of the Cauayan Forest Region Agriculture Cooperative (CFRACO) in Sta. Maria, Cauayan City has completed the Business Expense Savings Training (BEST), conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Isabela in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – Isabela.

The training aimed to equip participants with practical financial management strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in their businesses and cooperative operations.

DTI Isabela Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Mary Rose M. Dumpit emphasized the agency’s commitment to strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises by providing essential skills and knowledge in financial management.

During the training, the selected 20 participants engaged in business simulation exercises to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

“BEST is an experiential learning tool that allows individuals to manage a virtual business in a risk-free, interactive, and realistic environment. The simulation helped participants develop key entrepreneurial skills, including financial and market analysis, operations management, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and leadership,” Dumpit said.

She added that this initiative is part of DTI Isabela’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local enterprises, ensuring their resilience and growth in an ever-evolving economic landscape. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
