KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Aklan has been recognized as one of the top-performing local governments in the country during the 37th Anniversary Stakeholders’ Recognition event of the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) held at Seda Manila Bay in Parañaque City on Oct. 9, 2024.
The Department of Finance (DOF), through the BLGF, celebrated the achievements of top-performing provinces, cities, and municipalities in strengthening local government finance.
Aklan ranked fourth among all provinces in the Locally Sourced Revenue (LSR) category for 2023 and 2022.
“Rayang kadaeag-an hay nagapakita eamang sa atong insakto ag mayad-ayad nga pagmanehar it pondo it probinsya,” Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores said.
(This award only shows that we indeed managed well the fund of the province)
He emphasized that this recognition is a product of continuous collaboration among various offices and a shared commitment to improving revenue collection.
“Saeamat sa atong mga dedikadong empleyado, sa atong mga stakeholders, ag eabi eon gid sa mga taxpayers sa inyong hugot nga pagsuporta,” Miraflores said.

The BLGF’s annual recognition program aims to honor local governments that demonstrate excellence in managing locally sourced revenues which is a crucial component in promoting fiscal autonomy and improving public services.
“Padayon kita nga magbueuligan para sa ika-umwad it atong pinalanggang probinsya!” Miraflores noted.
