Aklan Guv delivers provincial state of the children report

KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) — As the country celebrates National Children’s Month (NCM), Aklan Gov. Jose Enrique M. Miraflores delivered his 2024 Governor’s State of the Children’s Address at Marzon Hotel in Kalibo, Aklan.

This year’s theme for NCW celebration is “Break the Prevalence, End Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines!”

The hundred days of accomplishment highlighted Miraflores’ administration’s commitment to the Province of Aklan.

“Nagapadayon ro mga inisyatibo, pati man rong anang nakalinyadang plano para sa mga inungang Akeanon,” Miraflores assured.

(The initiatives, as well as, the lined-up plans for the Aklanon children will continue.)

“Malipay gid ako nga sa sueod it masobrang daywang dag-on nakon nga pagserbe, ro atong gobyerno probinsyal hay abo eon nga haubra ag padayon nga ginaubra para sa atong mga inungang Akeanon,” Miraflores expressed.

(I am happy that for more than two years of my term, our provincial government had accomplished a lot already and will continue working for Aklanon children)

Miraflores stressed that he would execute more extended policies and monitor and evaluate the implementation of laws, programs, or projects for the children and youth.

“Ro akong promisa sa mga inunga, padayon ro among pagsuporta kinyo pag-abot sa edukasyon, kinamatarong, ag kamaeayran, para sa mas maumwad ag mas progresibong probinsya it Aklan,” he said.

(I promise to the children that we will continue supporting you in terms of education, rights, and well-being to a more progressive Aklan).

He urged everyone to increase support and public awareness for defending and advancing children’s rights.

Miraflores also stressed the significance of education in safeguarding children from harm, particularly from online abuse and violence that preys on digital platforms.

Moreover, the awarding ceremony for the Governor’s Search for the Top Performing Municipal Council for the Protection of Children in the Province was also held.

The Local Government of Kalibo got the Top 1 spot; followed by LGU Lezo for the second place; LGU New Washington as third place, LGU Malay as fourth, fifth place was Tangalan, and in 6th and 7th place were LGUs Ibajay and Madalag, respectively.
