LEGAZPI CITY, Albay (PIA) – Albay Gov. Edcel Greco Lagman expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the assistance given to farmers and fishermen affected by the El Niño weather phenomenon.
“Ako po’y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa pagkakataong ito na ibinahagi sa atin ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., ang kanyang matibay na pangako na itaas ang kalidad ng buhay ng bawat Pilipino, lalo na ang ating mga magsasaka at mangigisda na araw at gabing nagtatrabaho para sa kanilang mga pamilya at komunidad.”

Marcos recently visited the province of Albay to personally provide P41.5 million in cash assistance, under the Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolk (PAFF), to farmers, fishermen, and families affected by the dry spell.
He also distributed various farm and fishery inputs and pieces of machinery from the Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
Lagman said the P41.5 million assistance would be distributed to 4,150 farmers at P10,000 each.
Apart from Albay, President Marcos also distributed nearly P200 million worth of assistance to farmers and fishers affected by El Nino in Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes.
Additionally, Lagman expressed support for the President’s vision for a better tomorrow for the “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines).
“Ang adhikain niya para sa isang “Bagong Pilipinas” ay nagbibigay ng malalim na inspirasyon sa lahat ng Albayano. Ang kanyang mga hakbang ay hindi lamang para sa agarang lunas kundi pati na rin sa pagtataguyod ng isang tuloy-tuloy at masaganang kinabukasan para sa bawat Pilipino,” Lagman said.
