LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — All the workplaces of the Philippine National Police (PNP) units in the province of Ifugao are declared as drug-free workplaces.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) made the declaration after the police units underwent and passed the necessary qualifications set under the Dangerous Drug Board Resolution No.13 of 2018 like drug testing and other requirements of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Drug-Free Workplace Committee.
PDEA – Ifugao Provincial Officer Randy Pulmano led the awarding of certificates of confirmation to the IPPO), the 11 municipal police stations and the two mobile force companies based in the province.
Pulmano praised the leaders of the PNP in the province for their vision, dedication and efforts for making their respective offices drug-free workplaces.
“The unveiling of the drug-free workplace program is a testament to our collective commitment to integrity, safety and the well-being of our officers and the public,” he said.
The program encompasses several components that include prevention and education, support and rehabilitation, accountability and testing and community engagement.
Diplat encouraged all police officers to be role models so that the society may also take their stand and fight the evil of drugs for a safe place to live for everybody.
“As members of the Philippine National Police, it is our responsibility to lead by example. Let’s start within ourselves and make all our offices and stations a drug-free workplace. We may not only protect our organization from the bad effects of drugs but also contribute to the overall well-being of our community,” Diplat said. (Marcelo Lihgawon-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
