Alliances driven by PH goal to unite — PBBM

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday declared that his administration’s call for political alliances is driven by his goal to unite the country.

In his speech during the signing of alliance between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the National Unity Party (NUP) in Makati City, the President cleared notions the alliances sought by the government are “marriages of convenience.”

The unity forged between political parties is aimed at working together to transform the Philippines under a “Bagong Pilipinas,” he said.

“Our ideology is unity,” he said.

The President said they have to organize for the next elections.

“But we organize ourselves, that’s not a marriage of convenience. It is an understanding that we must come together if we are to transform our country into the modern, safe, sustainable, growing country that we dream of, that we have all dreamed of in all our lifetime,” he stated.

At the heart of the undertaking, the President said, is public service.

“And that is what we want to provide. So, when they once again, when you hear that phrase ‘marriage in convenience,’ then let us answer them: No, unity is, in fact, our ideology. That is what has brought us together. We do have ideals,” he pointed out.

“This is not just to win the next election. This is to make the Philippines a better place. And that is what we are doing here,” the Chief Executive added.

Around 100 members from the PFP and NUP officials were present during the important gathering. (PND)
