‘Amlag’ pre-Christmas trade fair opens in Ifugao

The AMLAG” Pre-Christmas Trade Fair at the public plaza in Lagawe town open to the public. Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) set the activity from November 15 to December 15, 2024.

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) formally opened on November 25, 2024 the “AMLAG” Pre-Christmas Trade Fair at the tennis court of the public plaza in Lagawe town.

The fair which will run until December 15, 2024 features food and non-food products of the  different micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province. Among these are    beautifully crafted furniture, unique handicrafts and metalworks, high-quality blades and tools, stylish wearables and accessories, fresh, locally grown produce and processed foods.

The “AMLAG” Pre-Christmas Trade Fair was started in 2020 through the collaboration of the PLGU and the DTI  to provide opportunity for the local businesses to gain profit and propel economic growth in the community.

Michelle Padduyao-Rigor of the Padduyao Delights is grateful to those behind the  annual activity that promotes locally produced products.

“We are thankful to all agencies who initiated this activity. It’s very helpful to us micro, small medium enterprises to promote our cacao products,” she said.

Lailanie Maguiwe of Lagawe town  said  the pre-Christmas trade fair is a big help to consumers because  the locally made products are made  accessible to  the buying public.

Governor Jerry Dalipog enjoined the MSMEs to be innovative for competitive products. He assured that the provincial government is supportive to the business sector through its various programs and services.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Joselito Guy-guyon requested the organizers to provide him the needed information for the legislation of an ordinance mandating the PLGU to conduct the “AMLAG” yearly and for  other supporting mechanisms.
