BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya will showcase local products of the province’s Micro Small and Medium Enterprises next month.
Marichelle Costales, Grand ‘Ammungan’ Festival director-general, said the MSMEs’ local products will be exhibited and sold through the ‘Gawang Vizcayano’ Trade Fair at the provincial capitol grounds as part of the week-long festival.
The week-long ‘Ammungan’ (Gathering) Festival, which runs from May 19-24, marks the yearly celebration of Nueva Vizcaya’s Founding Anniversary.
“This is part of our assistance to our MSMEs to sustain their gains and further promote their products to the international market,” she said.
Costales said the festival has become an effective promotional venue for MSMEs to earn income through local and international markets.
She said that last year, MSMEs raked in more than P1.5 million in sales for just four days of the week-long trade fair based on the report of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprises Development Office.
Costales said some of the local entrepreneurs’ products which will be exhibited through the ‘Gawang Vizcayano’ Trade Fair will be furniture, fruit and vegetables, handicrafts, ornamental plants, Buko Pie, fruit chips, chocolate, coffee, herbal, fruit wine, pineapple ice cream and assorted flavors of Vizcaya Piyaya products, among others.
She said the ‘One Town, One Product’ of the 15 Local government Units of the province will also be featured, exhibited, and sold in their respective booths at the provincial capitol.
“Our MSMEs’ local products and OTOP play a very important role in our tourism programs and have pushed our tourism growth in Nueva Vizcaya as a tourist destination for the past years,” Costales. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
