Dela Cruz further stated that Roxas City has the highest number of illegal drug operations, where there is a large population and many consumers.
Moreover, the PDEA has also raided 11 drug dens in Roxas City for 2024.
In an interview with local media, PDEA Capiz provincial officer Maria Melinda Panaguiton confirmed that there are remaining drug dens or sites for illegal drug activities in some of the barangays in Roxas City.
She also noted that even though they have already raided and arrested drug personalities in the said barangays, new individuals continue to take over the illegal drug trade.
Panguiton cited that one of the reasons is the constant movement of various people in and out of the area, where anyone can easily build a “payag,” which later becomes a spot for drug use.
She also hopes that with the continued cooperation of the residents, the problem of illegal and harmful drugs can gradually be reduced.
In addition, Dela Cruz said that the PNP intensifies its anti-illegal drugs operations and implements various Community-Based Rehabilitation Programs (CBRP).
The CPPO also conducts various Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program lectures to schools, universities, and barangays in the province. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
