SAN JOSE, Antique(PIA) – – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council conducted an Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Meeting cum Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) this afternoon, November 15,in to prepare for the possible impact of incoming Tropical Storm MAN-YI (PEPITO).
PDRRMO held a Response Cluster Coordination Meeting and Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment at the PDRRMO/Emergency Operations Center in Binirayan Hills, San Jose, Antique.
The meeting focused on providing updates and developments regarding Tropical Storm Man-yi (Pepito) and ensuring pre-disaster readiness to mitigate the potential adverse impacts of the weather disturbance on the province.
PDDRRMO Broderick Train led the discussion on the latest weather update from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), indicating that Tropical Storm Pepito is expected to impact certain areas in the northern part of Antique specifically to the Municipalities of Culasi, Sebaste, Pandan, and Libertad.
The province is currently under a yellow risk level, indicating medium risk with minor potential impacts, though this may change depending on Tropical Storm Pepito’s movement.
Preparedness plans, including key actions and a response timeline, were outlined to ensure preparedness measure to address the possible effects of the typhoon. (PSM/PIA Antique with reports from YPA/GIP)
