SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — The Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) banks on its newest campaign “Lagaw Ta!” to boost local tourism.
As part of the Tourism Month celebration this September, the PTCAO officially launched the “Lagaw Ta!” initiative that invites Antiqueños to first explore their home province before visiting other destinations in the country.
Tourism Officer JC Cadiao, in an interview, said the tourism campaign Lagaw Ta, which translates to “Let’s tour,” was designed to further promote Antique among its residents.
Cadiao noted that Antiqueños themselves top the list of visitors in various destinations around the province, hence, the PTCAO’s move to nurture local tourism.
The official stressed that strengthening local tourism will not only contribute to improving the local economy but also enable Antiqueños to develop a deeper appreciation for their province.
The Lagaw Ta campaign is anchored on the 2024 Tourism Month theme “Tourism and Peace,” highlighting the critical relationship between a peaceful society and a robust tourism sector.
Without significant concerns for public safety, more domestic and foreign visitors are expected to come in, stimulating business movement and ultimately generating economic growth.
Given the government’s continued commitment to securing a lasting peace, the PTCAO guarantees enjoyable and worry-free travel and cultural immersion anywhere in Antique. (AGP/BPS/PIA Antique)
