Antique MSMEs join the 2024 National Arts, Crafts Fair

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Antique joined the 2024 National Arts, Crafts Fair (NACF) with 18 of them representing the province.

DTI information officer Jenny Tabalanza said that Antique’s rich cultural products took center stage at the 2024 National Arts and Crafts Fair (NACF), at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall, Mandaluyong City, from Oct. 23 to 27, 2024.

This event is a partnership undertaking of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)- Bureau of Market Development Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO) in collaboration with DTI Regional and Provincial Offices and supported by the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.

The NACF is an annual event that showcases the diverse range of artistic creations and handmade crafts from local artisans and craftsmen that aims to promote local talent, cultural heritage, and the importance of arts and crafts in the community.

It serves as a key platform for MSMEs to showcase the traditional craftsmanship, unique products, and innovative designs that highlight the vibrant culture of the Philippines.

Through the NACF, the DTI aims to elevate the profile of Philippine arts and crafts and strengthen the country’s creative industries.

Tabalanza shared that the participating MSMEs from Antique offered a wide array of locally produced goods, including woven textiles, handcrafted accessories, home décor, and eco-friendly products, which reflect the province’s deep-rooted artisanal traditions.

She added that their participation not only promotes local crafts but fosters economic growth as well by opening opportunities for MSMEs to connect with potential buyers, investors, and partners from both local and international markets.

To DTI, Antique MSMEs’ involvement demonstrates the significance of diversity in contributing to the national creative economy while also providing sustainable livelihood for local artisans and entrepreneurs.

In addition, 19 MSMEs from other provinces in Western Visayas joined the 2024 NACF. (DTI/PIA-Antique; Photos from DTI-Antique)
