CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (5ID, PA), has deployed newly commissioned soldiers to various units within its area of operations in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Regions.
A total of 20 second lieutenants and 122 privates were assigned to their respective units, stepping up to the responsibilities of defending the country as military officers and enlisted personnel.
Major General Gulliver Señires, commander of the 5ID, reminded the new soldiers to apply the values learned during their rigorous military training to their duties. He emphasized the division’s core principles encapsulated in its tagline: “Malasakit, Disiplina at Galing” (Compassion, Discipline, and Excellence).
“The challenges ahead will test your strength, but I am confident that you will overcome them through your bravery, skills, and dedication to service. The 5th Infantry Division has a long-standing reputation for facing challenges and achieving success. I believe you will carry this tradition forward. Remember, as a Star Trooper, ‘Only our best is good enough,” Señires said.
He also urged the new soldiers to remain steadfast in their duties, stay vigilant in their actions, and work together towards their shared mission.
Following the ceremony, the soldiers were dispatched to their assigned units, ready to combat insurgency and prepare for the challenges ahead. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
