ILOILO CITY (PIA) — The 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division of the Philippine Army honored its peace partners at the event dubbed “Pasidungog 2025: 3ID’s Tribute to Stakeholders,” held on Jan. 20, at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
The event, themed “Our Peace, Security, and Development: My Commitment, Responsibility, and Legacy,” was led by 3ID Commander Major General Marion R. Sison and Assistant Division Commander and 301st Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Michael Samson.
A total of 46 stakeholders from Panay and Negros Islands received the Spearhead Partner for Peace plaque in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the Division’s mission. Their support significantly contributed to the achievement of sustainable peace, security, and development in Western and Central Visayas.
Awardees included regional heads of partner security forces and government agencies, congressmen, local chief executives, private individuals, and people’s organizations. 3ID’s staff officers, line units’ commanders, and media partners were also present to witness the event.
In his message, Sison attributed the decisive victory over the more than 50-year Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) menace in Western and Central Visayas to the collaboration of all stakeholders through the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).
“Your active participation made a significant difference in this campaign. We are now reaping the fruits of our sacrifices and hard work. It is during our time, through the efforts of individuals and agencies, that this decades-long menace has been brought to an end. It is during our watch, you men and women here today, that lasting peace has finally been achieved,” Sison stated.
The 3ID Commander also stressed that continued stakeholder partnerships are vital to maintaining the significant gains made and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of peace, security, and progress.
“To our partners, thank you for heeding our call. Thank you for walking this path with us. Thank you for believing in this fight, and most of all, thank you for your unfaltering love for our country and people,” he added. (AAL/AGP/ PIA 6 with reports from Philippine Army Spearhead Troopers)
