BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA) calls for a whole-of-nation approach in enhancing the ease of doing business, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas,” a Philippines that is efficient, competitive, and resilient.
ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto Perez made the convergence call to various stakeholders during the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Summit in this city on September 3.
“The Ease of Doing Business Summit this morning, with the theme “METRIC: Maximizing Efficiency Through Regulation, Innovation and Collaboration,” is a very decisive maneuver towards achieving this vision. It is a platform for open dialogue, knowledge sharing and collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and other stakeholders,” Perez said.
“This summit is a cornerstone of ARTA’s nationwide vision to improve bureaucratic efficiency and promote a competitive business environment across the localities in the Philippines. This nationwide initiative demonstrates ARTA’s dedication to ensuring that the benefits of improved ease of doing business are felt by businesses and communities across the country,” he added.
Attended by various stakeholders from local government units, private sector and regional line agencies, the summit provided an overview of ARTA’s major programs and initiatives, a briefing on the eBOSS or electronic Business One- Stop-Shop and updates on the EODB implementation under the ARTA Regional Field Office-Northern Luzon. The summit also included a panel discussion where Perez was joined by ARTA Better Regulation Office Director IV Marbida L. Marbida, Department of Information and Communications Technology-CAR Regional Director Reynaldo Sy, Department of the Interior and Local Government and Department of Trade and Industry-CAR Assistant regional directors Ruperto Maribbay Jr. and Director Samuel Gallardo, respectively.
Perez also led the awarding of certificate of recognition to the Cordillera regional offices of the DILG, DICT and DTI for their committed support to ARTA programs and initiatives, and the eBOSS Seal of Compliance to the City Government of Baguio.
“ARTA is proud to recognize Baguio City as the 56th local government unit to become eBOSS- compliant. and we will be awarding their official Seal of Compliance. This achievement underscores the city’s commitment to digital transformation and efficient service delivery,” Perez said.
