ATI-10 seals contract with EAsy Agri scholars

EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–Supporting smallholder farmers and fishers engaged in agriculture, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)-10 led the signing of a scholarship contract with its grantees of the Educational Assistance for the Youth in Agriculture (EAsY Agri) in the presence of their parents and guardians, September 30.

For batch 3, eight came from Bukidnon, three scholars are from Camiguin and Misamis Oriental, and two scholars are from Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte.

The EAsY Agri Program also aims to contribute to the improvement and competitiveness of Philippine agriculture towards achieving food security and alleviating the socio-economic status of families in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

Currently, there are 49 active scholars of the ATI EAsY Agri from batches 1–3. During the event, Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez presented the scholarship guidelines, obligations, and responsibilities of the scholars.

Among the 18 scholars for batch 3, nine are resuming their studies as scholars at the Central Mindanao University (CMU), three at Camiguin Polytechnic State College, four at USTP-Claveria, and one scholar each for MSU-Naawan and MSU-Marawi.

With more scholars and agriculture graduates produced by state universities, the program also intends to produce agricultural professionals and new breeds of farmers with agribusiness enterprises.

Development Management Officer II Jhoylie Mae R. Caumban facilitated the contract signing activity along with the training management team, Frances Mari G. Roa, Hannah Eleanor N. Santander, Shirley delos Reyes, and Miraflor Ofonda-Bonifacio. Also witnessing the contract signing activity is the center’s accountant, Augem Gail I. Guzman. (ATI-10/PIA-10)
