KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) — The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) in the Soccsksargen region conducted the first Coco Asenso Techno Forum and Exhibit in Koronadal City recently.
The forum, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority, aimed to educate stakeholders about the latest advancements and technologies in coconut farming.
Shirley L. Beldia, OIC center director of ATI-RTC, expressed her appreciation to all of the techno-forum participants who contributed to the activity’s success and dedicated themselves to the coconut industry.
“We hope that this two-day activity will be productive, where everyone will take time to listen and to get whatever information that our resource persons will give,” said Beldia.
Featuring informative sessions, workshops, and interactive exhibits, the forum showcased innovative practices in coconut farming for the entire two-day duration of August 22 and 23.
Participants were local farmers, agricultural experts, and representatives from various organizations throughout the region.
Beldia believes they had the opportunity to engage with experts and gain knowledge about sustainable coconut farming techniques.
Meanwhile, Elma Pinili, a coconut farmer of Sto. Niño, South Cotabato, considered the activity a great venue for her to learn new technologies that she may apply to increase her profit in coconut farming.
“We have the privilege to attend this program for the first time to enhance our skills into more productive coconut farmers,” Pinili said.
She also thanked ATI-RTC and PCA for giving her the chance to participate in the two-day activity.

Aside from informative sessions on coconut farming techniques, the event also highlighted the importance of the coconut industry to the region’s economy and its potential for growth.
Various exhibitors also showcased their food and non-food coconut products, creating partnerships and networking among participants.
Beldia said the success of the first Coco Asenso Techno Forum and Exhibit marked a significant step towards advancing coconut farming practices in the region and enhancing productivity.
