SYUDAD SANG ILOILO (PIA) – Isa ka panibag-o nga district office sang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang lauman nga pagatukuron sa ika-tatlo nga distrito sang Iloilo matapos ginpermahan ni Presidente Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang Republic Act (RA) No. 12005.
Ang pasilidad nga pagatukuron sa banwa sang Pototan ang mangin ika-anum na nga district office sang ahensya sa probinsya, kung sa diin ini ang magatutok sa infrastructure projects nga ginapatuman sa banwa sang Badiangan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Janiuay, Lambunao, Maasin, Mina, kag Pototan.
Ginpahayag man sang Presidential Communications Office (PCO) nga ang DPWH district office ang magabaton sang pondo halin sa annual budget sang national government.
Sa piyak nga bahin, ginkalipay ni Iloilo 3rd district Rep. Lorenz Defensor ang pagpirma ni Marcos sang RA No. 12005 kon sa diin pinaagi diri mahatagan na sang mas maayo nga igtulupangod ang estado sang imprastruktura sa iya distrito.
“This is a game-changer for the third district of Iloilo. A game-changer for our development and progress,” pahayag ni Defensor sa isa ka media interview.
“The third district has the most number of and the longest road network in the province of Iloilo and we are with the fourth district that is served by the DPWH. With our own DPWH office now, there will be dedicated attention to infrastructure development in Central Iloilo,” dugang pa sini.
Si Defensor ang isa sa mga nagduso sa pagtukod sang bag-o nga DPWH office sa Kongreso, pinaagi sa House Bill No. 07769.
