TAGUM CITY , Davao del Norte (PIA)- – The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair’s (BPSF) way of delivering pooled services of the national  line agencies will soon be institutionalized especially in the provinces.

BPSF National Secretariat Head Sofonias Gabonada Jr,  deputy secretary general of the House of Representatives, said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr  and Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez intend to institutionalize the program  “just like what we did in Leyte.”

The province of Leyte, where the BPSF was conducted during its early stages, was cited by Gabonada as an area  where  the BPSF Serbisyo Center will soon be put up, i.e. “all these frontline services will be located in one building.”

“Para siyang isang mall na nandun na ang lahat ng 35 major government agencies (It is like a mall where all the 35 major government services are located) where people can avail in one-stop-shop mechanism the services being offered by the national line agencies. We will be putting up one Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Center in every province nationwide,” he said in the BPSF press conference to answer a query on means to sustain the BPSF services after the two-day huge haul of pooled government services.

Gabonada further revealed the plans of Speaker Romualdez “to institutionalize the funding through  the enactment of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair Act, which will also institutionalize the program to provide the funding support to this initiative of the President.”

Gabonada believed that the intention to institutionalize the BPSF would  generate favorable support from the members of the House of Representatives.

During the same press conference, Davao del Norte 2nd District House Representative Alan Dujali expressed openness to discuss the enactment of a law to make the BPSF a regular program of the national government.

Rep. Dujali along with Davao del Norte Acting Governor De Carlo Uy and City of Tagum Mayor Rey Uy was cited  by the BPSF head secretariat as one of the pillars of holding “biggest” BPSF in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Reports coming from the national secretariat revealed that the BPSF Davao del Norte hauled a total of P913,296,524.69-worth  of 235 government programs, services and direct assistance from 67 participating national line agencies.

As of 3:00 p.m. on June 7, the BPSF National Secretariat pre-registered online a total of 250,289, beating the rate of pre-registration among the previous sites of BPSF.  Tagum City, Davao del Norte was the 19th BPSF site and the first in the 2nd wave of BPSF government service delivery.  (RVC/JMDA, PIA-XI)
