QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Marcos administration’s Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) has unveiled a comprehensive support initiative with P75 million worth of essential services and benefits for over 15,000 members of the country’s creative media industry.

The two-day event titled “Paglinang sa Industriya ng Paglikha” (Cultivating the Creative Industry), which was held on Oct. 13-14 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, focused on uplifting professionals in the film, television, theater, and radio sectors.

“Ang BPSF ay isa sa mga programa ni Pangulong Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. na may layuning matulungan ang bawat sektor ng ating lipunan, kabilang ang mga nasa creative industry. Ipinapakita nito na hindi natin nakakalimutan ng pamahalaan ang ating mga manggagawa sa larangan ng sining at media,” House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez said in his message to the beneficiaries.

(BPSF is one of President Marcos Jr.’s programs aimed at helping each sector in our society, including those in the creative industry. This shows that the government does not neglect our workers in the field of arts and media.)

The event was participated in by 23 government agencies, with access to more than 100 essential government services, such as permits, licenses, health assistance, and other services.

The forms of assistance distributed during the event included P5,000 cash aid for each beneficiary under the Ayuda sa Kapos Ang Kita Program (AKAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and five kilos of premium rice, or more than 75,000 kilos of rice, distributed over two days.

Also included in the BPSF were training programs from agencies, such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Department of Labor and Employment.

House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias Gabonada Jr. said that beyond the financial aid, the BPSF aimed to equip the people in the creative industry with skills and knowledge through various training sessions and industry-specific workshops.

The BPSF had already served more than 2.5 million families nationwide through various government services and aid worth over P10 billion. (PIA DMD)
