Balik Eskwela in Capiz expects 186,000 learners

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — About 186,000 learners in elementary and secondary schools in the province are expected to go back to school on July 29 for the face-to-face classes of the school year 2024 to 2025. 

Of the 186,000 learners, about 145,000 school children from the Department of Education (DepEd) Capiz Schools Division and 41,000 from DepEd Schools Division in Roxas City.

“Now, we are in full face-to-face classes. Our schools are also prepared for a shift to distance learning thru printed modules anytime that is necessary,” Aposin said.

The meeting was attended by various national government agencies, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and media partners.

The public schools in Roxas City are also ready for the in-person classes, said DepEd Roxas City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel F. Bermejo.

“Part of our Balik Eskwela is the kick off of the week-long Brigada Eskwela on July 22 as we call for support from our partners in the community to prepare our schools for our pupils and students,” Aposin noted.

The schools maintenance week kick off activity program will be at Vicente Andaya, Sr. National High School in Sigma town after an early morning simultaneous caravan from Roxas City and municipalities of Pilar and Tapaz has converge at the venue.

The classes for the school year will end on April 15, 2025 based on the DepEd Order No. 9 which sets the Implementing Guidelines On The School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2024 – 2025. (EAD/AAL/PIA Capiz)
