COTABATO CITY (PIA) – The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) has hired a total of 628 teachers and non-teaching staff to boost the learning experience of students, or learners, in the region.
The newly hired teachers and non-teaching staff were officially sworn in during a mass oathtaking and signing ceremony at the Cotabato State University (CotSU) gymnasium on March 20, in this city.
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal emphasized that the massive hiring effort aims to improve student learning experiences by employing highly qualified teachers and providing them with the necessary skills and training.
“As MBHTE regional employees, you are equally vital in ensuring that our education system functions effectively and efficiently. Your work in administration, policy implementation, and governance helps sustain the programs that bring quality, inclusive, and accessible education to our learners,” Iqbal said.
The newly appointed personnel include 521 elementary teachers, with 29 promoted, and 57 secondary teachers, with 10 promoted, including 11 non-teaching staff members.
According to the MBHTE, the newly hired teachers have undergone assessments of their qualifications, teaching demonstrations, interviews, and written examinations.
“The recruitment process ensured that the new teachers have the necessary skills and qualifications to provide innovative and exceptional education,” Iqbal pointed out.
The newly hired teachers will be deployed in various schools under the Maguindanao del Sur School Division, particularly in areas with limited educational resources. (With reports from MBHTE-BARMM)
