BARMM to build P1.2B infrastructure in Lanao del Sur

MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Second District Engineering Office in Lanao del Sur has signed memoranda of agreements (MOAs) with the contractors set for its infrastructure projects for fiscal years 2023 and 2024.

The mass MOA signing on August 2, 2024, marked the launch of infrastructure projects in Lanao del Sur’s second district, with a total value of P1,212,426,600

These projects include the construction of roads, bridges, water supply systems, and other vital infrastructure repairs for local communities.

The Bangsamoro Government aims to enhance the region’s basic services access and promote socio-economic development through these new infrastructures.

In his address to the contractors, District Engineer Maldamin Decampong emphasized the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that infrastructure projects are completed on time and to high standards.

“I am reminding everybody that as outlined in the contract, we are committed to overseeing the projects to make sure that the infrastructures meet the quality standards and the time frame allocated for each project,” he said.

Sambitory Dimaporo, representative for Unayan Builders and Construction Supply, urged everyone to unite to support the BARMM and MPW in completing the projects assigned to them.

“It took a jihad to build BARMM, and now it is our responsibility to continue building a good future for our communities. Insha Allah, we contractors will religiously adhere to the terms of the contracts we signed,” he said.

Decampong said this will be their final mass MOA signing ceremony for the year. The ministry has successfully awarded the projects to various contractors and is monitoring those underway. (BIO/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
