MANILA — To address the increasing transportation demands in the area, DPWH Palawan 2nd DEO successfully completed the road construction project in Sitio Alis-Alis, Barangay Panitian in the Municipality of Sofronio Española, Palawan, providing better accessibility and connectivity within the region.
In a report by Palawan 2nd District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, the road project involved the construction of a 704 linear meter road and the installation of road signages and pavement markings to ensure safe and organized traffic flow. Additionally, 10-meter height solar street lights were installed to enhance nighttime visibility and safety, while existing 6-meter height solar street lights were relocated as part of the project.
The paved road has significantly reduced travel time, with an estimated reduction of 1.3 to 3.4 minutes. This improvement aims to support local transportation and enhance the overall quality of life for residents by improving access to essential services and reducing travel time traversing the area that contributes to the economic development in the region.
