CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10 is intensifying its fire safety campaign by bringing the BIDA KA Fire Square Roadshow to schools in the region.
“This is an educational activity for students of all ages, so that they will be able to learn how to rescue people and how to keep themselves safe from any eventualities that may come in our community,” said BFP-10 Regional Director CSupt. Alma Abacahin during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 29.
According to her, the initiative seeks to instill lifelong fire safety principles among the youth and create a ripple effect of safety consciousness throughout the region.
A total of 2,788 students from Xavier University (1,188), Liceo de Cagayan (1,000), and City College of El Salvador (600) have already benefited from the BIDA KA Fire Square Roadshow this year. The roadshow engaged these students in hands-on activities and demonstrations on fire prevention, rescue techniques, and emergency response.
The BIDA KA Fire Square Roadshow is a key component of BFP’s efforts to create a safer community by cultivating a new generation of fire safety advocates. (APB/PIA-10)
