LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — Bikers and bike buffs within and outside the Cordillera region traversed the majestic mountains and winding roads of Kapangan and Kibungan in Benguet on February 22, 2025 to promote tourism and anti-terrorism while supporting a charitable cause.
The 30-kilometer road challenge dubbed “ K2K Bike Challenge: Rocky Wall Adventure” was hosted by the Battalion Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 15 and the Youth Mobile Force Baguio-Benguet Chapter.
This activity with the theme, “Turismo, hindi Terorismo” aligned with the RMFB’s commitment to address insurgency through holistic approaches.
“So ang activity na ito is ang isang tagline niya “Turismo, hindi Terorismo” kasi three points ‘yung aming purpose – number one is to help our beneficiaries, number two is to promote tourism sa Kapangan at saka sa Kibungan, at number three is to combat terrorism upang ma-convince din natin ang mga tao lalong-lalo na ang mga kabataan to promote sports and tourism, instead of terrorism” BAGPTD deputy chairperson Khristine Molitas said.
Proceeds from the event will benefit an individual diagnosed with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, a two-year-old baby diagnosed with global developmental delay with epilepsy, and the Kibungan Tour Guide Association.
Molitas thanked the sponsors and participants and hoped for a continuing partnership for community development.
“Thank you, thank you so much sa 84 na bikers na sumali, hindi lang sila nag-enjoy, naka-meet ng mga bagong friends, but mostly, they are able to help our beneficiaries. And of course, our sponsors, masaya po ang aming beneficiaries,” she said.
Renato Waje, a 57-year-old biker from Baguio City, shared that bikers like their association are always supportive of events with a cause.
