BJMP launches fundraising drive for PDLs’ health services

STA. ROSA CITY (PIA) – Around 1,353 civilians and uniformed personnel took part in a fun run that sought to raise funds for the health services of Persons Deprived of Liberty in Calamba City.

Organized by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Calamba, the fun run on January 11 was for the benefit of PDLs receiving treatment at the BJMP’s infirmary facility.

Jail Chief Supt. Hilbert Flor, BJMP Region IV-A director, said the fun run will directly benefit the sick PDLs with resources to aid in their recovery.

“We gather here with one common goal and that is to make a difference in the lives of those PDLs who are battling illness in Calamba City Infirmary PMDT-STC Facility,” he said.

“Let us cherish this moment not only to enjoy some physical activity but also to demonstrate our solidarity with those who are facing health challenges. Let us run with enthusiasm, knowing that every step we take today contributes to such a noble cause.”

In line with the BJMP’s advocacy for a healthier lifestyle and the welfare of PDLs, the jail bureau received solidarity from several government agencies, including the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Public Safety Academy, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the PNP-Special Action Force.
