TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) — As a tribute to Bohol’s culture and heritage, the Provincial Government of Bohol, through the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD), will conduct the “Garbo sa Bohol” in observance of National Arts Month this February.
The event will offer a series of artistic activities aimed at preserving and promoting Bohol’s rich culture and heritage while celebrating the artistry of the local community.
Various activities are scheduled to showcase the vibrant artistry of the Boholanos from Feb. 21-23.
On Feb. 21, an Inter-school Painting Contest will be done at the Island City Mall Activity Center, this city.
A Filipiniana Dress Painting Contest is scheduled on the following day, Feb. 22, at the Island City Mall Activity Center.
On Feb. 23, the “Garbo sa Bohol” Art Exhibit Opening Program will be held at the Alturas Mall Events Center.
The three activities carry the theme “Bohol Geopark Sites.”
These activities aim to engage the community in the appreciation of Bohol’s heritage, the Bohol Geopark, and the talent of Boholano artists.
The events will not only serve as a platform for local creatives to showcase their work but will also raise awareness of Bohol’s prestigious designation as the first and only UNESCO Global Geopark in the Philippines.
The provincial government, through the CCAD, invites the public to enjoy this vibrant celebration of Boholano artistry, culture, and history as these events are open for everyone to experience.
In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 683 signed in 1991, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is leading National Arts Month 2025 with the theme “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin.” (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
