QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Starting June 22 (Saturday) at 7:00 am, the U-turn slot under the EDSA Quezon Avenue flyover, both northbound and southbound, will only be passable to light vehicles. Buses, trucks, and other vehicles with a height of 2.50 meters and above will be prohibited.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the closure of the U-turn slot is to give way to the installation of scaffolding under the flyover which will limit the vertical clearance to 2.5 meters only.
The activity is part of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) National Capital Region’s ongoing project of retrofitting/strengthening of permanent bridges, including the EDSA Q. Ave. flyover.
Affected buses and trucks are advised to take the following alternate routes:
From EDSA Southbound:
- Left turn to Quezon Ave.
- Left at Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago Ave. (formerly Agham Road)
- Left at North Ave.
- To Mindanao Ave. or EDSA
From EDSA Northbound:
- Straight towards North Ave.
- Take a U-turn in front of Quezon City Academy
The retrofitting work is expected to be completed by August 4, 2024. (MMDA/PIA-NCR)
